This catalogue presents nearly 3,000 paintings from some of the most famous public collections in the London Borough of Westminster. The 11 collections featured in Volume One contain works with significant royal and political connections and span a wide range of periods and styles from Rubens magnificent Banqueting House ceiling to contemporary works by David Hockney and Gavin Turk in the Royal College of Art. Set at the heart of the nation, Westminster encompasses outstanding collections from the Royal Academy of Arts, the Ministry of Defence, the Supreme Court, Apsley House and several royal societies. The Public Catalogue Foundation is a charity passionate about making art accessible to the public and educational research.
